Dear everyone,
First of all happy late New Years
I’ve been missing online for a while now because I haven’t exactly been feeling my best.
Asides from getting sick 3 times since November (I’m currently sick) I’ve been struggling a bit to find motivation to work on new things.
I’m slowly realizing that over the past decade I have crossed out nearly every cosplay that has been on my bucket list since before I knew cosplay was a thing. And the ones I haven’t done yet are ether because of budget, storage or lack of knowing technics those projects would require.
So I’m considering changing my focus on 2022, rather than just picking projects I don’t truly connect with. And focus on original concepts that will let me unleash my creativity until I ether find something that truly inspires me again or feel ready to tackle the remaining of my bucket list.
Now, this doesn’t mean I’ll be quitting cosplay. I still love cosplaying and truly enjoy all the costumes I have created over the years. I’m simply changing my focus from replicating to full on creation.
I have done a few original costumes in the past including genderbents, full original costumes for existing characters and original characters including the one in the pic here. So I’ll simply be diving in further into an area I already enjoyed.
Since I’m still sick, and my work area needs quite some work before it’s usable again, it will be a while until I have new progress pics to share, but I hope you will all be here with me for my new journeys.

I’ve been pretty into dnd lately and I saw this booth that had some cool pins, bottles and tea at AnimeNYC.
I mostly wanted the pins since I’m not ever into tea, but then we decided to give the tea a try.
It’s actually pretty good! I don’t drink tea at all and finished my entire cup.
So I actually recommend this, just felt like saying it since it’s an ultra rare find for me.

Had fun at the contest, as someone who nearly had to drop out I’m just glad I got to showcase my work.

For those who asked: yes, my costume is made out of leftover supplies, scraps and repurposed pieces from past costumes I worked on. A 0$ budget costume that is also 0 waste!

Random progress pics dump!
If you have been here longe enough you might have seen a few of these.
I’m proud to announce that I’ll be debuting my Odette from Barbie of Swan Lake cosplay this weekend at AnimeNYC
This is a project that I worked on through 2020 and early 2021.
Back when I was cleaning up and re-organizing my fabric stash I noticed not only how many small bits had gathered up on my scrap box over they years but also how many pieces of about a yard or less of left over fabrics I had just sitting around with the excuse of “maybe the costume will need some repair later on”
I was very tempted to toss out the 1/2 yard or smaller pieces but when I noticed it filled not one but two full storage bins I decided I should do something better for the environment than to send all of it to a land field.
I then started the process of sorting and figuring out what to do with them, that’s when the idea of this costume came to mind.
Everything you will see in the completed project has ether been repurposed from abandoned projects, made with leftover supplies or made from actual scrap pieces that were left from cutting up materials for other cosplays.
I hope you guys enjoy the finished project, I really put a lot of effort into it. Can’t wait to see you guys on the weekend <3

I haven’t been posting a lot often because there

I haven’t been posting a lot often because there are several things going on at the same time…
1- I recently inured myself and have been dealing with nerve pain on my right knee, causing me to fully stop any further progress on the costume I had planned to enter at AnimeNYC. Thankfully they allowed me to change my entry in order to accommodate my current situation.
2- I have been struggling with my self image/self worth for quite some time now, leading me to be unwilling to even look at my own work. So getting something on stage again is quite a big step for me at the moment (despite how many times I have done it).

In any case, I’m glad for those of you that didn’t hit unfollow due to the lack of content. And I hope you will still be around when I feel well enough physically and mentally to be posting again.

Still working on the costume and getting all little bits of it done, I decided to be “extra” this time with the amount of detail by going beyond what the reference can offer.
